August 15, 2008 – Chef Paul Sant of Executive West Hotel competed against Roberta Catton of Atria Senior Living during the Cast-Iron Chef Competition. The two head chefs used a secret ingredient to create a thirty-minute masterpiece. Chef Sant won the culinary contest. |

August 16, 2008 – This blue ribbon winning pie will remain on display in the East Hall of the Kentucky Exposition Center throughout the fair. Thousands of entries were entered in the fair's 30 competitive categories. |

August 17, 2008 – Kayla Eilers from Folsom Academy of the Arts performed a lyrical dance solo during the 30th annual Coca-Cola Talent Classic Sunday afternoon. The competition's semi-final winners will showcase their skills for a share of $5,500 in cash and prizes during the final at 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 23. |

August 18, 2008 – From deep in the swamps of Florida, the Kachunga and the Alligator Show proves to be just as educational as it is hair-raising fun. Bert, a real American bushman apprehends a ferocious alligator with his bare hands in the West Courtyard Monday. The show ends with a chance to pet and learn about various alligator species. Watch the show daily at 1, 3 and 5 p.m. |

August 19, 2008 – Fairgoers enjoyed playing bingo in the Humana Senior Fun Room during Senior Day at the Fair. Special activities were planned throughout the day for seniors to enjoy. Heritage Hall, designed specifically for seniors and located in the air conditioned South Wing Conference Center, is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. |

August 20, 2008 – This trio of skilled musicians draws a crowd as they rove through the Fair creating a high-energy beat on stools, water jugs, pots and pans. The Procrastinators can be seen daily at various locations throughout the Fair. |

August 21, 2008 – Bruno Blaszak educated and entertained fairgoers with his rare Royal Bengal Tigers and Siberian Tigers, which features the worlds only tight rope walking tiger. Fairgoers can enjoy daily performances of the Blaszak Tiger Show during the Kentucky State Fair. |

August 22, 2008 – Les Kime's trained "bundles of bacon" performed to rave reviews in the South Wing Parking Lot during the Kentucky State Fair. The standing-room-only crowd cheered and laughed as these performing porkers completed astonishing stunts and other silly acts. The Pork Chop Revue performs daily throughout the fair. |

August 23, 2008 – The Paul Laurence Dunbar High School dance team wowed the audience at the Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom Arena with their routine at the Kentucky State Fair's Cheer & Dance competition. The school was among more than forty entrants in the annual competition. |

August 24, 2008 – Fairgoers raced head-to-head at speeds in excess of 200 MPH on an authentic replica NASCAR track in the Toyota Motor Manufacturing NASCAR Race Simulator. With every mistake, each driver's Toyota Camry seat shook or jerked, making the experience replicate a real NASCAR race. |
