Admission

Q. What age child is admitted free to the State Fair?
A. Children 2 years old and under

Q. What is the age range for children's admission to the State Fair?
A. Children between the ages of 3 years old and 12 years old

Q. What is the age range for senior citizen's admission to the State Fair?
A. Senior citizens are considered 55 years old and over

Hours of Operation

Q. What are the hours of operation for the State Fair?
A. Gates open at 7 a.m. and exhibits open at 9 a.m.
The midway and tents close around 12 midnight and exhibit halls close at 9 p.m.

Q. When does the Midway open on weekdays?
A. 2 p.m. except on Fridays when it opens at noon.

Q. What time does the Midway close?
A. There is no official closing time for the Midway, however, rides and vendors tend to start closing up around midnight.

Concerts

Q. When do the doors open for the concerts?
A. Doors open approximately one and a half hours before the start of free and paid concerts.

Q. Are cameras allowed inside the concerts?
A. The only cameras allowed inside the concerts are instant cameras. Regular, more advanced cameras are allowed at the Fair, but not inside Freedom Hall or Cardinal Stadium during the performances.

Q. Are the outdoor free concerts cancelled if it rains?
A. All free concert performances happen rain or shine. Free concerts will only be cancelled if there is lightning. Notification will be posted if a free concert should be cancelled due to weather.

Q. I am interested in performing at the Kentucky State Fair. What do I do?
A. All talent for the Kentucky State Fair is booked through Triangle Talent. Please visit their Web site for contact information.

Parking

Q. Is parking included in gate admission? What is the fee?
A. Parking is $8 per vehicle and is NOT included in gate admission to the fair.

Q. Where do buses park?
A. Lot H in between Gate 4 and Gate 3 off of Crittenden Drive.

Q. Is bicycle parking available?
A. In addition to bicycle racks at every gate, the Kentucky State Fair Bicycle Corral is located at Gate 4 in Lot H. The two new bicycle racks at Gate 6 off Preston are designed to meet the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals national standards.

Q. Is there RV parking? What is the fee?
A. Yes. Overnight RV parking is allowed only in KFEC Lot F behind Cardinal Stadium (Electric and water hookups are not available) Parking is $20.00 per night. Sites are first come, first served. Contact the Access Control office at (502) 367-5384

Q. Is there camping available?
A. No, camping is not available during the Kentucky State Fair.

Midway/Rides

Q. Who operates the Midway?
A. North American Midway Entertainment

Q. What are the Midway hours?
A. 2014 Kentucky State Fair Midway Hours were as follows:
Thursday, August 14 - Opens at 2 p.m.
Friday, August 15 - Sunday, August 17 - Opens at Noon
Monday, August 18 - Thursday, August 21 - Opens at 2 p.m.
Friday, August 22 through Sunday, August 24 – Opens at Noon

Q. What time does the Midway close?
A. There is no official closing time for the Midway, however, rides and vendors tend to start closing up around midnight.

Q. How many tickets do you need to ride the rides in the Midway?
A. All rides require two or more tickets. The larger the ride, the more tickets it takes. (Some height, weight and health restrictions apply.)

A. Yes, Season Pass holders will be required to pay Kentucky State Fair gate admission during the Fair.

Fairgoer Services

Q. Are there ATMs available?
A. There are six ATMs on the grounds. One is located outside the West Hall lobby, one is in the South Wing B lobby, one is inside the front entrance of Freedom Hall, one in the Broadbent Arena concourse and two are located on the Thrillway. Fairgoers should plan on bringing plenty of cash for the day. Due to the large volume of use during the fair, funds in the ATMs can occasionally be diminished.

Q. What do I do if I have lost something during my visit at the State Fair?
A. All items found and turned in to the State Fair staff will be taken to the Kentucky Exposition Center Security Office (entrance from East Courtyard). The office is open 24 hours a day throughout the fair. Call (502) 367-5360.

Q. Can I bring my pet to the State Fair?
A. Pets are allowed, however, they are required to be on a leash.

Q. Can you page for lost children, family members or friends?
A. The paging system is only broadcast to outdoor areas of the fair. Pages can only be made for medical emergencies. We recommend you designate a meeting area (such as Freddy Farm Bureau on the front porch of Freedom Hall) before coming to the fair in the event you get separated from your party.
